why backcounty balance?
Backcountry Balance was founded by Bruce Smetana and built from real-world experience, not marketing trends. After surviving a near-fatal medical crisis that exposed the serious impact of mineral depletion on the body, Bruce began researching electrolytes, recovery, and proper mineral balance when existing products fell short. The result is a clean, zero-sugar electrolyte formula designed to support hydration, clarity, performance, and recovery in demanding outdoor and everyday environments.
Backcountry Balance is keto, vegan, and paleo friendly, made without artificial or “natural” flavors, and focused on delivering only essential minerals in the right balance. We believe hydration should be effective, transparent, and earned through experience and we proudly donate 2% of profits to wounded warrior or conservation non-profit organizations that protect people and wild places.
